If there’s one thing cold winter nights call for – it’s bed! There is no greater feeling than snuggling up in a warm toasty bed when the rain is lashing down outside in the pitch black. There’s no denying that if I could, I would spend all day in bed. It really is my happy place.

You may remember a few years ago I was kindly sent a Simba mattress which is still going strong well, as it’s such a brilliant brand which has stood the test I time I have decided to join the club and love nothing more than hunkering down in my brand new Simba Hybrid duvet.
Being warm and toasty is my number 1 rule of bedtime but what else can you do to guarantee a good nights kip?
Feng Shui Your Room
You know the old motto – tidy house, tidy mind and that’s definitely true. I hate clutter and mess as it makes me feel on edge and irritates me so I’ve really found these Feng Shui bedroom tips handy to ensure I can maximise the precious minutes of sleep I can rack up in a night!
A good bedtime routine
I like to unwind before going to sleep. Phones before lights out are a big no no as it sends my brain into overdrive. I do love a good read before bed as reading makes me feel rather drowsy as my eyelids get heavy -unless I get engrossed then it defeats the object as I’ve been known to keep saying just one more chapter!
We all know the old wives tale not to eat cheese before bed, but I also found it useful to find out what are the best drinks before bed as no one wants to be wired from caffeine at 3am!
Unplug all devices
Darkness is key! My blackout blind is my best friend as I love to sleep in the pitch black. I cannot stand trying to sleep with lots of little red lights on from the TV being on standby, to things charging overnight. It’s definitely advisable to unplug everything not only from a cost perspective (every little helps right!) but also safety wise, it’s not advisable to have multiple things charging where they can heat up and potentially are a fire risk when you’re in the land of nod.
All this sleep talk, has made me need a nap….!
