My Sneaker Sister
I probably have my sister to thank for me only ever buying Nike trainers.
I have only ever owned Nike trainers and I genuinely think it’s down to her love of them. Being the younger sister I was quite easily swayed by my big sister and whatever she said always seemed a good option as I thought she was pretty cool (shhh don’t tell her that though!) As I got older the trainers that I would do for every single sport going (yes quite hard to believe isn’t it that I was a sports fanatic as a kid) were phased out to make way for ankle snappingly high heels and now comfy flats and Uggs, but her love is still as strong as ever.
I vividly remember going on holiday as a teenager and her making my Dad order her a pair of silver Nikes (this was way before online shopping was as simple as it is nowadays) and her sheer joy as got them (£90 lighter!) But her trainer ‘career’ is still going strong. She’s a through and through tomboy so her feet are forever in her Nikes. These are her current pair:
nicknamed her ‘Brandons’ as they’re the same as Brandon Flowers has so she’s taking her shoe love to idol worshipping.
I’m sure she will be on the hunt for her next pair as her ‘Brandon’s’ have been kicking around for quite a while now. So I thought I’d be the super wonderful sister and help her out. I had no idea that the Skate Hut sell Nikes.. I thought it was all ‘skatery’ brands such as Etnies and Vans; I’ve impressed you haven’t I! I went through a phase of being a Busted (…I know) fan and decided to try being a skater (don’t squeal of laughter now please) and kitted myself out in these brands but really I should have stuck to what I know.
The family love of Nikes has also spread to Charlie and he is currently rocking some awesome illumious Nikes, at the age of 6 he loves choosing his own stuff. I have seen the hi-tops on the Skate Hut so may be investing when he needs a new pair which at this rate is every few months; the kid is going to be a giant!!
B xx
