When it comes to morning coffee, only a few variations can truly hit the spot. Some say the stronger the better in terms of caffeine, while others prefer a milkier concoction. Nevertheless, the coffee industry is in crisis the world over, and people will bitterly argue about the best beverage until they’re blue in the face whether it’s due to taste, how energising it is or even pricing.
Still, Nisbets are able to help you with all your coffee making needs, so the only decision that still needs to be made is deciding which beverage to make. But which is the best to consume after just waking up?
Consequently, here are the top 3 coffees to drink in the morning:
Latte
Lattes are tasty and a treat for sure. That said, great treats don’t usually make great morning coffee choices at the same time. Your first drink of the day needs to be a good one, keeping you healthy and fighting fit throughout the day. Lattes are certainly not too harmful, but as far as coffees go, they’re probably one of the least advisable options out there.
This is because lattes often have tempting extras added on to them that aren’t too healthy; such as syrups. Some also say that lattes have too much milk in them, which can dilute the strength and/or taste of the espresso. Of course, some will call the latte their favourite, but for sheer strength and healthiness, it’s not the best coffee for the morning!
Cappuccino
The cappuccino is a safe choice that will see you through any bleary dawn you can think of. It’s famed for its morning drink status and is almost drunk exclusively for that reason for many people. A good cappuccino will energise you for the day ahead and give you that lift you sorely need… even if it is almost suspiciously like a latte (they have the same amount of espresso).
Still, it’s also worth mentioning that a cappuccino can be quite filling, and it’s also a good source of calcium which means you’ll feel great after consumption. A cappuccino also has a slight edge over the latte in that it has less calories. Consequently then, cappuccino is certainly a valid choice for your morning coffee.
Macchiato
If it’s not obvious already, this list has been ordered from what some might consider the weakest coffees to the strongest. Consequently, it’s only fitting that the macchiato takes the number one spot due to its potency and strength in consumption. Also featuring a simmering shot of espresso and once again coming down to quantities of milk, the macchiato is the best morning coffee!
This is because the milk on top doesn’t mix with the espresso underneath as much, which means you get a few good swings of what tastes like pure espresso to give you that kick you crave. The espresso in both the latte and cappuccino can start to look a flat cream colour after the clash of espresso and milk; with macchiato, you’ll still have straight, dark coffee once you’re done with the milky top. Put simply, it’s the most coffee that a coffee can be!
