Every mum knows what it’s like to roll out of bed with messy hair and bleary eyes. As soon as your children wake up you have to instantly switch yourself like a machine. You don’t have time to check in with your emotions and you certainly don’t have scope to have a “bad” day. You often struggle to boost your energy levels when you haven’t had a good night’s sleep and you’re definitely not alone. So if you’re looking to improve your mood and find a way to feel revitalised every single day, take note of the following hacks.
Move and Groove
The last thing you want to do after a rough night is to hit the gym and exercise. However, studies show that moving your body can really boost your mood and make you feel instantly happy. It’s no secret that the connection between extreme sports and good mental health is super strong. All you need to do is find something that makes you feel amazing personally and try it as often as you can!
Get Outside
Going outside for a brisk morning walk is the perfect instant pick me up. You don’t need to spend hours and hours doing this; all it takes is five or ten minutes to make you feel amazing. Come rain or shine you should aim to go for a walk outside every single day; try going outside twice a day if you have the time and you may even gain double the amount of energy!
Take a Quick Shower
As a busy mum you know how hard it is to get yourself up, showered and dressed for the day. You often neglect your own morning routine because you’re so focused on getting the kids ready for school or nursery. If you can implement one non-negotiable action into your morning routine, it should definitely be taking a quick shower. Even if you only have two or three minutes to spare, this is going to give you a refreshing burst of energy right away. If you’re feeling really brave you should turn the shower to cold for the last twenty seconds of your shower. This is an amazing hack to get your blood flow going and give you that mood boost that you’re looking for.
Meditate and Practice Gratitude
Just five minutes of meditation each day will give you a new lease of life. Similarly, when you frequently practice gratitude you will suddenly have a newfound respect for everything you have going on in your life. You don’t need to spend a long time on these daily exercises; just five minutes is all you need to make a significant impact on your mood.
Although these hacks might sound simple, you will be blown away by the results. Whether you’re going outside for a walk or even taking a two minute shower, these changes are going to make a world of difference. As a mum, you need to feel on top form as often as possible, so these methods will definitely bring you one step closer to feeling empowered and happy.
