26th October 2022 No Comments

Regardless of this season, humidity can interfere with your comfort at home. There are some places around the world that are humid through the supposed winter months, and they have that year round sunshine feel. In the summer, your home can become completely unbearable if it’s too humid on the inside compared to what it is on the outside.

Too much humidity can lead to numerous issues, and while you can invest in an AC without external unit and improve your indoor air quality, you need to make sure that there is no excess moisture in your home. Too much moisture can lead to mold building up, mildew and a poor air circulation. You want to feel good in your house, and here are the steps you need to do that.

  • Keep the air conditioning running. The best way to reduce any humidity in the home without having a dehumidifier on standby is to make sure that your air conditioner is running. They work by cooling the air as you know, but they also remove moisture. Having the air cooled down and the moisture sucked away is important. You won’t have to worry about condensation building on the walls and therefore mold building up as well.
  • When you can, open the windows. I know, it doesn’t sound right to have the windows open in the middle of winter, but it can make a big difference to your comfort. If you don’t have a dehumidifier in the house, then having windows open is going to help you. When the weather is nice, opening the windows and allowing the fresh air to circulate through the house will reduce the amount of moisture in the air as well.
  • Keep fans running. Fans work by circulating the air around the room, which prevents moisture from settling anywhere and causing mildew build-up. Reducing humidity with fans may feel impossible, but if you try the ice and fan trick, you’ll be able to reduce humidity and cool the air around you.
  • Make sure you have a vent in your attic. If you have an attic, you can open up the windows or the skylights to allow hot air to escape. Warm air rises through the house, and that can be a problem if you are trying to get rid of mold and mildew. If you’ve read the attic properly you won’t have this problem because the air will rise and leave.
  • Turn down your shower temperature. You know how the bathroom gets covered in condensation and steam when you shower? That’s because the shower is too hot! Taking cooler showers and baths can reduce the amount of moisture in the air and this is going to be super helpful.

One of the better ways that you can be comfortable in your home is to reduce the humidity, and now you know how to do that you can ensure that your home looks and feels fantastic, use these tips and make your home stand out and feel good in the best way
