7 Simple Summer Crafts

8th August 2019

With almost a month left of the holidays to go, it’s fair to say cabin fever is starting to set in. With the weather taking a turn for the worse for the next week here, we are pretty much going to be house bound. My girls absolutely loves anything art and crafty, so I thought I’d share 5 simple summer crafts to help keep your little ones amused these long summer holidays.

We aren’t even at the half way stage of the summer holidays and the pressure is definitely on to keep the kids entertained. It’s impossible to go out splashing the cash every single day, especially as there is plenty you can do within the comfort of your own home. Our favourite thing to do at home aside from baking is drawing and colouring in. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant but the girls often play the “three marker challenge” which they often see on YouTube meaning they have a set amount of time to colouring in a picture with just three colours that they picked at random. They love racing against the clock to create a masterpiece and keeps them entertained for ages.

Here are a few more excellent ideas to keep them amused:

This super handy infographic was created by Rainbow Chalk Markers to help us survive the hols.

I also asked some of my favourite blogger to give you some inspiration to help keep the kids amused. Becky from 3 Princesses and 1 Dude has tonnes of ace ideas, including this perfect summer one using your leftover lolly sticks which I’m sure you will have lots leftover from when the sun actually shone in July!

Hannah from Hi Baby blog shared her super sweet DIY bird feeder craft. Our nextdoor neighbours have a nest in their trees and we can hear the little birds chirping away so I know the girls would absolutely love to try their hands at making this as they’d think it’s be a new home for the babies to live in! Jenny at Monkey and Mousey has the best post for those who don’t regularly craft as she’s created post all about crafting with leftovers you can find in the house. – I love the plastic saving zipper idea.

I hope these help you guys out and happy crafting!
