School’s Out With Snapfish

10th May 2018

The summer term is already underway and the remaining days left of this term are flying by, I can’t help but think that the end of term will be here before we know it. With moving on days just around the corner, my attention has turned to getting ready for the end of term and I am already for “School’s Out” thanks to Snapfish.

I personally love to give the children’s teachers and teaching assistants a gift at the end of term, to say a big thank you for all they have done throughout the year. This year has been my daughters first year at school and I am blown away by their progress. Their reading and writing ability has come on leaps and bounds and we finish the year with them reading short sentences with ease and have really nailed their phonics. Not only have they improved academically, but their confidence has improved massively too. I was torn over the decision whether to keep my twins together or put them into separate reception classes. I opted to keep them together and it has been the best decision I could have made. People automatically presume that as there istwo of them, they are instantly at ease but this school year has seen them do things individually more than ever before. It has been amazing to see their personalities grow and blossom; looking back on the past 12 months, we have undergone such huge changes to the dynamics of the family and I have loved seeing them grow from pre-school toddlers to big grown up school girls.

The girls have had the same reception year teacher that Charlie had and I was so pleased as she is an absolutely brilliant teacher. She has really respected my wishes in relation to the girls being treated as individuals and is so switched on to where they are at. She has been such a brilliant teacher and I really wanted to get her something special to say a big thank you for all her hard work and efforts. She has definitely made this first year at school run smoothly.

I was given a credit to spend at Snapfish and they have such a huge range to choose from. After a good peruse, I selected a heat changing mug, some coasters, a hardback photo book and also some high gloss thank you cards that come with envelopes. The Snapfish website is really easy to navigate and upload your own photos to make your own personalised gift. I was really impressed that it gave you a preview of what it would look like, which I think when designing something yourself is really important as you don’t want to spend money on something that you don’t know what the end product will look like.

The high gloss thank you card in a pack of 20, complete with envelopes, and are the perfect cards to send to all the teachers, headteacher and teaching assistants. They are a really nice personalised touch for the teachers to keep and are a nice alternative to cards. The girls loved writing them themselves and popping them in the envelope.

For me, I wanted to capture this first year of memories so got a beautiful hardback book made up to keep as a memento of their first year at “big” school. It is a lovely keepsake to capture the last year; I opted for the 12×12 hardcover lay flat option and was able to personalise it with little labels such as “the first day of school” with the date. All colours, text and cover images are able to be customised to your own colour theme.

Phoebe was absolutely fascinated with the heat changing mug. It was a really simple process – she simply drew a picture of her teacher, i uploaded it to the Snapfish website and they printed it onto the mug for her. There were lots of different colours and styles, all at what I think is a really reasonable price for such a special gift.

SnapfishShe was a bit baffled why it was a plain dark mug, but as soon as I added the water she was entranced by the “magical mug” as she has re-named it. I know she is going to be pestering her teacher to always have a hot drink, so she can watch her picture appear from nowhere.
