My 2015 Bucket List

31st December 2014

I didn’t want to do a review of my year as quite frankly if you read my blog or follow me on twitter you know how awful this year has been so I don’t need to go over it.

Instead I saw that the lovely Donna over at Redhead Babyled had a fabulous idea last year to make a bucket list of things to do in the forthcoming year – so Donna, I’m basically ripping off your idea!!

1) Stay in a posh hotel in London for my 30th
It’s not until next November but I’ve already started looking. We are thinking of possibly leaving the kids overnight (sharp gasp) so we are more free in places to go.

2) Go to the cinema as a family
Charlie loves the cinema and I am so looking forward to the day we can go all together. The girls will be 2 in June so probably the end of next year!

3) Visit Peppa Pig World again
We went back in 2011 and I would say it still is my favourite family day out ever. It was just awesome! I’d love to go for the Christmas wonderland next year as the girls will be 2.5 so may appreciate it more & Charlie will still enjoy it. I hope!

4) Go to the seaside
We don’t live close to the sea at all. Last summer we attempted a beach day whilst on holiday and it was chaos and we left after about 30 minutes. I would like to try again next summer with a bit more luck!

5) Look after ME
I had my haircut once this year. Once. And had my nails done – zero. I wouldn’t say I’m high maintenance in the slightest but come on my hair needs chopping more than that! I always feel guilty spending money on hair and nails but in 2015 I want to treat myself a bit more and feel nice more often.

6) Spend more 1 on 1 time with each child
I’m very conscious that the girls end up doing a lot at the same time; they eat at the same time, sleep at the same time, bathe at the same time – it’s quite full on! So as they get older I want to make an effort to spend 1 on 1 time with each individual child doing things they each like

7) Lose weight!
The obvious new year – new start. But I really do need a kick up the arse as I’m not prepared to go up another dress size and have no clothes that fit. I feel so depressed about my body so it’s high time something changed.

8) Go to more bloggy things
I went to the Tots 100 blogcamp in October then was so lucky to win a ticket to Mumsnet Blogfest in November and it’s really helped me realise I am happy to be part of the blogging world. I’ve booked my ticket for Brit Mums in June but will be looking to going to other events and get to meet some of the lovely people who I read all about daily.

9) Make the Top 250 of Tots 100
Yes yes I get that you shouldn’t be bothered about rankings but you should always have a goal! I feel really chuffed I’ve made the top 500 the last few rankings so the next step for the next year would to be crack the top 250

10) Learn how to use my camera
I’m one of these that sticks to automatic mode but absolutely love taking photos but need to learn how to properly use it to make the most of it.

Smaller things I’d like to achieve:
-Go out for more meals
-Visit the library more and read books that don’t have Mr Tumble or Iggle Piggle in
-Go to a big professional firework display
-Throw a Halloween party
-Bake a cake from scratch
-Make more of an effort with my appearance
-Donate to the food bank
-Spend more alone time with my hub
-Sort out my garden and plant more flowers

What are your plans?

B xx

This is a lovely list. I often find it’s the smaller things that slip by as you make a big effort to get the main things done! Good luck with them all and a Happy New Year to you all xx

Great list. I’ll be joining you on the weight loss requirement, in particular because it’s my 40th next year and my best friend and I are planning a joint trip somewhere leaving our boys at home with the OHs. She’s skinny so I want to have got back to my healthy weight, which I’m nowhere near at the moment.

    Good luck with your list.

Ooh I am SO doing one these this next week- great idea! I think it’s always good to have goals, and then look back to see if you’ve achieved them at the end of the year. I am with you on number 10, the camera one- I too love snapping away but really need to learn to use it properly off automatic. This year WILL be my year camera-wise! Happy New Year and hope you have a better 2015 x

I’d love to go to a few blogging events too but because I live in Ireland I might have to wait a while. Don’t think there’s any on here.
I Have made more of a blogbucket list than a family one.
