We are heading off to Bluestone in December for some family fun and cannot wait. We have had quite a few breaks away this year which included my successful trip up to Blackpool alone with the kids at Easter time and we also travelled to Anglesey in the summer. I absolutely love going on holiday, but living in Shropshire means that to get to the coast is a pretty hefty car journey to get anywhere. I refuse to let long journeys deter us though and here are my five top tips to make car journeys less stressful. Snacks – the…

As we trudge our way through October, the dark nights and cold mornings are upon us and with Christmas still feeling that bit too far away to get excited, my mind always turns to a holiday and getting away from the doom and gloom England offers throughout the winter months. I absolutely love getting away; whether it be a night away in a hotel or planning a big family holiday abroad, I always like to have SOMETHING to focus on. I am definitely the sort of person that once we land, I will be googling our next trip. Winter sun…

We spent our summer holiday visiting Anglesey in North Wales. With our three kids in tow (aged 8 and 4) I thought it’d be handy to put together a few places we would definitely recommend for a good family day out with kids in Anglesey. Penrhyn Castle This National Trust site is an incredibly grand sight to behold. There is so much space fot the kids to run around and they also enjoyed the indoor train exhibition. We had a stroll down to the beautiful walled gardens but they were taken with the playground which is hidden in the woods.…

If you follow me over on Instagram, you will have seen our Instagram stories from our week long trip to the beautiful Anglesey. I had never been to Anglesey before but was blown away by so many beautiful beaches and towns there are there. We were really lucky with the weather as it rained when we were all in bed so we seemed to miss it all luckily. We stopped off at Llandudno on our way to Anglesey; not that you’d guess this was North Wales when you look at that gorgeous coastline and vibrant blue sky. We were left…

Summer is upon us and Facebook tells me that the world and their wife are off on their jollies. Whether they’re jetting off to sunnier climes or off exploring in the mountains, summer is without a doubt the time to get away with the kids off school for six long weeks. I love going on holiday but one thing I don’t love is packing, especially with three kids. I don’t think you realise how much “stuff” kids really need. I remember us taking the girls away for a week when they were two months old and the amount of stuff…

At the end of November and start of December, we took our first trip to Disneyland Paris. As complete novices, choosing a hotel cn be tricky. For us, the only option was to stay in a Disney hotel to ensure we had maximum magical effect. It can feel rather overwhelming but after much searching and chatting to people who had been, we decided to stay in Newport Bay in the Compass Club. The Compass Club gives you extra perks including: an extra hotel fast pass access to the drinks lounge a separate lounge area for afternoon snacks and breakfast special…

Last week saw me take a step into the unknown and take the kids away to Blackpool overnight for the first time on my own. I decided to take them up to Blackpool; as a kid we spent many October half terms there seeing the lights. I have such fond family memories that I knew it would be the perfect place for some good old fashioned fun. We were kindly offered the chance to see what is going on in the incredibly iconic Blackpool Tower so spent Thursday there. The Tower offers five brilliant attractions and there are lots of…
