When we found out we were expecting identical twins, I had visions of little darlings skipping off holding hands, cuddling, kissing wearing matching clothes looking exactly the same. The reality is somewhat different; we still have the holding hands, kissing and cuddling but we also have brutal brawls, endless bickering, tears, tantrums and some serious attitude. Welcome to the real life of identical twins. Social media reinforces this stereotypes that identical twins have this magical inseparable bond with magical superhuman powers where they can read each others minds, or feel each others pain. In reality? My experience of identical twins has…

Whoaaa, we’re halfway there, woah oh! June is upon us people and that means we are officially halfway through 2017. With the sun creeping out more and more, it’s quite exciting knowing that summer isn’t far off but for me it’s all a tad bittersweet with the girls off to school soon. June is always a very exciting month in our household as it is my girlies birthdays. They will be four next week and I am aghast at how quickly it’s gone and how big they are. They cannot wait and I am excited to see their faces when…

I haven’t wanted to post much this week. It seems incredibly frivolous to carry on posting when something so incredibly awful has happened. My Charlie is 8 years old. His world revolves around wrestling, playing with his mates and football. Life is simple life is fun, at 8 he is still so incredibly young and carefree. That is exactly how kids lives should be. Reading of the young 8 year old girl killed in Manchester affected me like never before. I simply could not stop thinking about her and everyone affected. It struck a chord in my heart and filled…

With yet another school holiday around the corner, I can’t quite believe that May is almost over and we are almost half way through 2017. The May half term is always a favourite of mine as the weather is better than at Easter and it gives you a real taste for the summer holidays which will be here before we know it. With three kids at different ages, it can be a challenge to find activities to suit all ages but I thought I’d share a few ideas to help you keep busy during half term: We have recently joined…

What a week in the blogging world it has been! The Daily Fail at it again peddling tripe this time aimed directly at some of the biggest and best bloggers out there. I am always amazed by the reaction throughout the blogging world and afar. This time it went even better with the hashtag #SolidariTEA trending left right and centre, it just proves that snooty middle clarse journos are so out of touch. The internet always wins and is hilarious when doing so. What else have I been loving this week then? Aside from the Slummy Mummy shizzle, I haven’t…

In the early hours of Sunday, my best friend gave birth to her second baby, another little boy. After a tough pregnancy it was wonderful to get a first glimpse of such a beautiful little monkey who will be such a big part of my life. I only have one older sister who has chosen not to have children so my friend giving birth, is what I envisage it like to have your sister go through a pregnancy and birth. From the initial “I’m pregnant” message, everything changes. The excitement for her builds just as it would with my own…

It is funny how you can so easily fall in and out of love isn’t it? One day you’re completely and utterly besotted then the next you could happily shut up shop and walk away. I have been feeling this quite a lot lately about social media. I go through phases where it is the absolute bees knees then others when I could happily delete everything and sail off into the sunset. The last twelve months have seen me battle even more frequently. My Twitter account is around 8 years old and has amassed numerous friends from way way before…
