It has been a flipping big week here this week; my girls have had their school induction! They did two mornings and then Thursday and today they have been from 9am until 3.15pm. I think we are going to have two very tired ladies this weekend. I’ve been getting to grips with all the information about the girls starting school in September. Charlie is now in the Juniors part of the school so it’s all very different to the Infants part; I really do feel like a new parent again. Not only that, but the minefield that is girls uniform.…

It seems that every few months there are new crazes that capture our kids attentions. With fidget spinners dying down, step forward  MOKURU. This is the latest craze coming from Japan. It is a small handheld wooden toy which designed to is test out the dexterity of fast fingered flippers everywhere. MOKURU is small enough to stick in your pocket and provide fun wherever you go. So how does it work? I have to admit when it arrived, I was a tad flummoxed as it looked like a stick. I had no idea how to use it, but I checked out the YouTube…

I never imagined I would ever have a daughter, let alone two at once. I am from a family filled with women which made Charlie a huge shock when I found out I was having a boy. I was convinced from then on in I would have boys, but as we all know that wasn’t the case. My family is filled with pretty amazing women. I am lucky to also have some amazing friends who astound me in their strength, courage and love they give. It’s easy to see inspirational women as ones that have changed the world, but sometimes…

Today marks the start of my twin daughters school induction week. I can’t quite believe I am writing that as they don’t seem old enough to be going, but hey ho it really is happening. Every school seems to do induction weeks differently, but the girls are following the same induction week school schedule Charlie did four years ago. I am going to try to put my emotions aside for this post, as we all know what a blubbering mess I am inside at the prospect of my baby girls heading off to full time school in September. Our induction week goes like…

Do we all think the summer has been and gone? We had a mini heatwave and now lashing rain. July is supposed to be the start of the summer but it’s not looking promising is it?! June saw my babies turn four and we had a glorious BBQ with all their friends round for a BBQ. They all played on the new trampoline and in the paddling pool and didn’t leave til gone 7pm – it was fabulous. I always love June but it always makes me realise we are halfway through the year (and only half the year left…

18 months ago, I was starting my Slimming World journey. At 5″7, when I joined and stepped on the scales for the first time and it flashed up 13 stone 7 pound, I was horrified. I don’t own scales at home so seeing I was thirteen and a half stone was hard. I knew since having the girls I had put on weight, but didn’t realise how much weight I had put on until seeing that number. I had no idea how I would get on with Slimming World, but that day really spurred me into wanting to lose three…

I can’t be the only one who has felt this entire week has been dominated by HEAT, oh the bloody heat indeed. As I write this, we have been treated to some rain and I even wore a jacket today. I know I shouldn’t moan but after being in what felt like a permanent state of hot, stickiness it is a welcome reprieve. I am looking forward to sleeping all night without having to peel myself off the bed and needing a fan on me 24/7. Tonight is our school BBQ so I’m looking forward to an evening with friends…
