As the summer break approaches, you are probably asking yourself whether you will spend another vacation in the confines of your home. Well, the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. However, vaccinations are gradually taking momentum in most cities all around the world. This is good news as the summer offers a thrilling time to have fun in the sun! But how can you ensure your family’s safety through this period? Here are some fun summer plans you can consider during the pandemic.
- Plan fun trips
You might be asking yourself if it is safe to travel while the pandemic has imposed restrictions on movement. Short answer-yes! But first, you need to contact your immigration lawyer to guide you on the current rules governing travelling in and out of cities, towns, or abroad. Depending on your preferred destination, you may be required to take a COVID-19 test or be vaccinated. This gives your family a sense of security from contracting the virus while away on vacation. However, be sure to adhere to the safety protocols as you plan your fun trip this summer, especially if you choose not to get vaccinated yet.
- Have a campfire in your backyard
Although the Coronavirus may have disrupted summer fun time, you can still enjoy it at home. You can have a summer campfire in your backyard, as you only need to gather some dried twigs for the fire. You can get a few drinks and set up a place for music. It might seem like a somewhat different camping experience, but you are sure to have fun while staying safe from the spread of the virus.
- Have a barbecue
You may not be able to invite neighbours over for fear of putting your family at risk, but you can still have your short barbecue time. You can plan which days will be ideal; late afternoons will be best since the summer season comes with unbearable heat during the day. You may need to ensure your barbecue grill is in good shape before the summer break. Take the grill out from the garage and give it a thorough washing. Moreover, you can heat it considerably, turn the heat off and allow it to cool down. When you complete inspecting the grill’s functionality, you can include barbecue time in your summer plans.
- Have a picnic at home
Summer is a great time to enjoy the great outdoors with a lovely picnic. Your backyard would make for an ideal location for a home picnic. However, if you have little outdoor space, you can use your living room. You can make it extra enjoyable by having a cooking contest as a side attraction. The winner of the cooking contest can have a reward to make it more fun. You may use the food prepared during the cooking contest to serve at the picnic. You get to save some money on food while you have fun at the backyard picnic.
