Raiding the Charity Shops

I will start by admitting, I am an absolute sucker for a good bargain. I am happy to hunt high and low, root around the rails and sift through piles of clothes to bag me a bargain.

Since rejoining Slimming World, the part I always enjoy most about losing weight is the ability top feel good in clothes, which in my head, means buying LOADS of new stuff. With just under a  stone to lose, I am in a bit of limbo at the moment as I am still a dress size above where I want to be when I reach my target weight. This is why I absolute love charity shops. Last week, me and my best friend spent the morning trawling our local charity shops for bargains and we got loads. I managed to find me a lush French Connection coat for just £9 and got Charlie a Quiksilver hooded shirt for £2. I love that I can buy clothes in a bigger size which won’t break the bank while I’m trying to shed the pounds.

Later in the year I have two weddings to go to so I know I will splurge on a posh dress as occasion dresses are the only way to go when you’re going to a swanky wedding. I loved the dress I wore last summer and had so many compliments on it, but I am so naughty and like to treat myself to a new dress as I get to get dolled up so rarely these days.

My friend and I have decided to try to go bi-monthly for a bargain hunting morning, as we both got so much last week. Books are also a great thing I like to pick up in the charity shops. My three have so many books but it is the one thing I can’t refuse to buy as I want them to feed their love of books and stories. I am already looking forward to our next shopping trip!

Oh I so do love a good mooch round the charity shops as you just never know what you are going to find. I have been buying some great books lately, some recent ones too for around a pound. You can’t beat a good bargain can you x
