Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Theatre Severn Shrewsbury Pantomine

It’s that time of year again for the famous Theatre Severn pantomime. This year it is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs being performed at the Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. More than 40,000 tickets have been sold for Shrewsbury’s annual Christmas pantomime for the first time ever and after attending the opening night, I can see why.

My girls favourite part of the performance was when the seven dwarfs, Cheeky, Brian, Sarge, Brummie, Sniffly, Rocker and Loopy marched on stage and they clapped and cheered along with them. I must give a special mention to the fab Cheeky who was just brilliant with his rather touching song about being “small”. It was so lovely to see and hear some important messages all about love, friendship and how we should treat others; amidst the fun and frolics of the festivities.

This is our fourth year in a row going to the pantomine at the Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury and the sets and costumes get more impressive each year. The cast as always are full of energy and Charlie’s favourite Brad Fitt playing Nelly never fails to have him in fits of giggles with his wacky costumes and delightfully sarcastic quips. Each year the famous “bench” makes an appearance and it’s lovely to see him remember the worlds as he sings along.

The pantomime gets bigger and better every year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. To be frank it is simply hilarious for all ages and provides feel good pre-Christmas fun for the whole family and it all being in the heart of Shropshire. I remember going to the panto as a kid and I love that I get to carry on this tradition with my three.

There are still a few hundred tickets available across the performances but people advised to book as soon as possible if they still want a chance to see this year’s brilliant show. The pantomime has continued to grow as the theatre’s main event of the year, with two extra performances added to this year’s run on the back of last year’s success. Next year’s pantomime is Mother Goose, which has never been performed at the Theatre Severn and tickets for this will be on sale very soon.
