My childhood was primarily spent playing in the woods not far from our house. Me and my friends would be gone for hours into Bluebell Woods climbing trees, making dens, playing hide and seek all to pass the time. Fast forward twenty years ands my children now adore the same woods that I spent so much time in as a child. We are so lucky that we have such a beautiful area a few minutes up the road from us.
With school around the corner, the girls will also be visiting the Forest School area on a weekly basis come rain or shine. They are super excited about donning their wellies and heading out for more outdoor adventures. JoJo Maman Bébé kindly sent the girls two hooded tops and two jackets to ensure they not only school ready, but woodland walk ready. We put them to the test in Bluebell Woods, but you’d never believe it was the middle of August! with the awful weather.
I instantly fell in love with the JoJo Maman Bébé new Autumn/Winter collection (which I dare you to look at and be able to resist) From super cute foxes to deers and exceedingly cute bunnies, it truly is such a beautiful collection. Straight away I knew what P2 would pick and I was right. The Fox Fishermans jacket has everything she loves – bright, fun and flipping cool as. The jackets hood is in a fox face complete with ears and on the back there’s the fox’s tail. On it’s first outing, we had four people comment on how ace it is, so I can imagine she may get mobbed in September on the playground.
P1 opted for the same jacket but in a red colour; there is also a pink or yellow option. The orange and red coats are both the same, just that one has a fun pattern on the hood and back. The jacket has a soft Breton striped cotton lining which makes it snuggly ass I do find rain jackets can often be cold when you put them on, but this is lovely not to mention super trendy inside too.
The Fox Fisherman’s jacket and the original red Fishermans jacket both are wadded for warmth with a gorgeous soft cotton lining so they won’t be chilly when they put them on. I love that the coat also has two large pockets; which I’m sure they will be filled with pine cones and conkers in the coming months as they love to collect them. They are also ab le to go in the washing machine which is always one of the first things I check when buying a product. Fun in the forest and my girls is a recipe for lots of mess, so it’s an essential. The coats will protect my girls from the wind and rain, which I cannot believe how much of we have had this August!
We also received two fox hoody jackets. They are reversible meaning you can mix and match for all occasions. They zip up the front and have a large hood and pockets on the pattern sides. They are super soft and lightweight so are perfect for popping in a bag as a precaution for the great old British weather. The girls loved wearing these to run around in the woods, as it can be chilly in the shade but they’re perfect as they add that bit of warmth without getting them all sweaty.
I utterly adore the theming of this collection and it already feels like autumn so I know we will be taking them to Wales on holiday with us next week. I love that they can also double up for an extra layer in the winter months.
You can check out the gorgeous new collection on the JoJo Maman Bébé website now. I have my eye on the wellie liners, just no one tell my husband!
Disclosure – we were sent the jackets photographed for the purpose of this review. All words, opinions and images are my own
