Charlie is now 8 and he’s always loved his kip (unlike his monkey twin sisters!) but he’s now starting to want to stay up that little bit later like all his mates. With twin sisters, he always lucks out and ends up with the smallest room in the house. We always tell him that whilst it may be the smallest, he will always have a room all to himself; silver linings and all that. I am a huge fan of making the most of all spaces so in our last house, where his room was tiny, we bought him a cabin style bed from Ikea. This enabled him to have space underneath his bed to play. When we moved, I was six months pregnant with twins so we had to buy a lot of stuff on a budget so he ended up with a cheap mattress that wasn’t very thick and as he is growing, I knew he needed something more substantial to last him.
The people at Emma mattress got in touch and asked if I would like to try one of their mattresses so this was the perfect opportunity to upgrade him. The mattress was shipped quickly and arrived in a large box. The mattress comes vacuum packed bag rolled up and as you pierce the plastic and lay it flat on the bed it starts to rise. I found this ridiculously satisfying seeing it rise up to it’s full size.
The mattress is made up of four layers to ensure the perfect night sleep:
- Hypersoft foam (4 cm) which has an open-pore cell structure and enables pleasant air circulation while keeping you cool, even on warm nights.
- The layer of conical pocket springs (2 cm) is optimised to balance out pressure disparities.
- Visco-memory foam (3 cm) ensures optimum pressure relief and molds to the shape of your body.
- The cold foam (16 cm) is the foundation and the support for the mattress.
Emma’s open-pored highly breathable materials won’t make you sweat. It adapts to an individuals needs and provides support where you need it.
I am wanting to ensure as Charlie grows, it gives his back the best support possible where his last mattress just was not doing this. As his bones grow, it’s vital to ensure this support is provided for him. With his bed as it is, the mattress slotted perfected into the cabin style bed. As it inflated straight away, he could have gone straight to sleep which I think is great as some mattresses you are told you need to give it 24 hours before sleeping on them. The mattress did give off a slight “new” odour but this soon disappeared once out of the box and laid out flat.
Emma Mattresses are made in the UK with the best materials possible. This really shows in the final finish as the mattress feels so luxurious and Charlie absolutely loves it; as do his sisters who decided they wanted to test it out whilst he was at school – the cheeky monkeys!
All Emma mattresses come with free delivery and a no questions asked 100 day money back guarantee, which I think is superb as it’s often difficult to know after lying on a mattress once if it’s going to be suitable. If that’s not enough, it also comes with a 10 year guarantee too. Emma Mattresses are available in four sizes: single, double, king and super king size. You can find out further details on the Emma Mattress website.
