This year we were lucky enough to be picked as official Ben and Holly ambassadors meaning we get to try out all the cool new range and let you know what we think. Just in time for Christmas, I have done a round up of the latest bits out for any Ben and Holly super-fan. There are so many great affordable gifts for toddlers and children who love the show.
We were sent the Uncle Gaston book which has a button where you press and he does his trademark bark! We absolutely love reading here and interactive books that they get to press the sounds are always a winner.
There is also a 35 piece puzzle which my girls who are three found easy to do. The pieces are sturdy and don’t bend when toddler brute force is applied which is always good!
I think both of these would make a great stocking filler present for Christmas. It has an RRP of £5.99 and can be found at Toys R Us and Amazon. It’s bright and eye catching and is a great thing for little ones to do for their memory and also hand eye co-ordination skills. It’s not too large that they can’t do it, but also sustains attention with 35 pieces it’s not done in two minutes!
The girls favourite was definitely the Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom Elf Tree Playset (RRP £29.99) The set includes a rocking Woodpecker, Ben Elf’s bedroom, the workshop with trap door and elf toy factory. The girls really liked that you could push the yellow toy ducks along the conveyor belt and they went round.
It also comes with a Barnaby Elf figure and he has a with detachable base meaning he can stand alone. There are also furniture accessories (a work bench, bed and bookcase.) I love the details such as the “pictures stuck” on the walls. All Ben and Holly fans will remember the episode with the woodpecker getting into the tree so it’s nice that the toys marry up with the show.
This would be a great main Christmas present for a toddler I think as there’s so much scope for imaginary play.
A winner with all kids is always an umbrella. My two absolutely love it when it rains to get out stomping in puddles and dancing in the rain. This bright umbrella has plastic safety edges so there’s no risk of poking their eye out as they wield it around!
Also – trying to photograph a child holding an umbrella who wants to whizz it around is IMPOSSIBLE!!!! We were also sent a copy of the DVD “Planet Bong” The Little Kingdom receives a visitor in the shape of Zyros the alien from Planet Bong, a planet that is getting far too hot causing all the water to dry up and the plants to die. With Zyros in desperate need of help to save his home, Ben and Holly set off on an elf and fairy expedition to save Planet Bong. Along the way the pair find themselves stranded when Zyros flying saucer fills with magic jelly and breaks down. Will they be able to fix the flying saucer in time and make it rain on Planet Bong before it’s too late? Let’s be fair – jelly is synonymous with Ben and Holly in our house and we always like the shout JELLY FLOOD whenever we have it. The DVD is available from Amazon and is currently just £4!
The Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom range is available at a range of stockists. There are some great Christmas present ideas and stocking filler ideas for kids that are super cheap. We reviewed more products in their range over the summer and you can check them out here. Yet again, the toys are loads of fun and perfect for my three year old girls.
