Carrying on with all things Disney, today I’m excited to have the lovely Angela from The Life of Spicers blogging today with her five favourite moments from Walt Disney World in Florida. Take it away Angela
My 5 Favourite Moments At Walt Disney World
I’ve been lucky enough to visit Walt Disney World twice now, once in 2014, again in 2016 and there is a third trip planned for 2017. Walt Disney World holds a huge place in my heart after two visits, and whilst it will be difficult to choose my 5 favourite moments at Walt Disney World, I do have some memories that stand out more than others.
Seeing Cinderella’s Castle for the first time
We went to Magic Kingdom on the second day of our holiday in 2014. I remember trying not to spot it on the bus journey from our resort to Magic Kingdom so I could see it in full glory as we walked down Main Street. I did catch a glimpse of the very top of the castle on the journey though and the image is still very clear in my mind to this day. Seeing it up close as we entered Magic Kingdom for the first time was so magical.
Watching Festival Of The Lion King
The Lion King is one of my all time favourite musicals and I knew there was a show centering around the Lion King film in Animal Kingdom. What I didn’t realise before we went to see it was just how amazing it was. We had actually planned a Fastpass for the show, but saw rain clouds settling over head so decided to catch an earlier show before making our way back to the resort. I am so glad it’s something we didn’t decide to skip because of the rain and it was more than worth the wait. I would go so far to say it was London West End quality, and the show holds a great place in my heart.
Sitting On A Warm Pavement At Night
There is something quite surreal about sitting on a warm pavement at ten o’clock at night in shorts and t-shirt, watching fireworks go off over your head. I’m generally a cold person who is always wrapped up, but being in Florida in July was obviously going to change all of that. Fireworks at home just aren’t the same for me now being wrapped up in a coat, hat and gloves.
The Smell of Disney
This may seem like a strange thing to say but the aroma of the resort when we arrived, the aromas that are everywhere in the parks to make everything feel magical and special is one of my favourite parts of Walt Disney World.
Meeting The Beast
The only place to meet the Beast is at dinner service in Be Our Guest restaurant. We didn’t have a reservation during our first trip, so this year I was determined we were going to eat in the Beast’s castle and meet him after our meal. Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney film of all time so I was very excited. The meal turned out to also be one of my favourite meals at Walt Disney World so far and to be able to meet the Beast afterwards was great.
