I thought I’d do a bit of a different post today as the lovely Steph at Mental Parentals tagged me, so here goes:
I was a working parent with Charlie but took voluntary redundancy when on maternity with the girls as travel and childcare was not viable.
Would you have it any other way?
There are days where I wish I had a job for myself but I love that my kids know it will always be me picking them up and dropping them off is nice. I also get to attend every school event and not had to miss anything which is very special. Do you co-sleep?
Not by choice! The girls climb in with us in the wee hours of the morning which is a killer. When they were smaller I was much more open to it but found they preferred their own space.
My Newborn must-have?
Car seat bases when we had twins were an absolute essential. Doing two school runs a day I can’t imagine faffing putting two car seats in with seat belts!
How many kids do you plan on having?
I always wanted three and having three kids from two pregnancies is pretty accurate! I can’t see us having anymore as we are happy to have ours.
Date Night – How often?
As and when we can slot it in. I’d say probably once every few months? We like to go for meals but it’s after the kids are in bed so it makes it easier to ask people. My husband works away so it always has to be either Friday’s or Saturday’s.
What’s your child’s favourite TV show?
Charlie loves Regular Show and anything about football at the moment. The girls are all about Paw Patrol .
What’s one thing you bought for your newborn and never used?
Top and tail bowl. What a waste of time! Just use an actual bowl.
Child’s favourite food?
Charlie loves chicken Penang bites! The girls love chilli and rice – especially the kidney beans! They all love an ice lolly though.
How many cars does your family have?
My husband has two work vans and I have a Honda CRV which I just love. It’s almost 18 months old now so I’m sure he will want to change it soon. It’s the cooler car I’ve ever owned as it has a rear parking camera making life so much easier!
Weight Gain – Before, During and After Pregnancy?
I didn’t really gain anywhere near my stomach with both. It was about 9 months after having the girls when my Mom passed away that I put on s lot of weight. I’ve lost 3 stone now with Slimming World so feeling good.
What’s your dream family holiday?
Disney World. It’s the one place I always wanted to go as a kid and never did. I have vowed that I will take our kids one day. We are looking at doing Disneyland Paris too.
What’s your dream holiday without the kids?
Our honeymoon to the Maldives was our dream holiday. We were planning on having more children in the near future so splurged and went as we knew we wouldn’t get the chance to again (the girls are honeymoon babies!) I really want to visit New York. That is my dream now.
How has life changed since having kids?
I get a lot less sleep! I have found I am more confident and happier in my skin since becoming a parent. Obviously you can’t just do as you please anymore but I like the fact three people call me Mommy.
Finish the sentence – It makes my heart melt when…
I see the three of them playing and giggling and just being silly together.
H&M, Sainsburys, Next, Zara.
What’s your favourite makeup and skincare?
I love bare minerals powder foundation as I have very oily skin so it works well. I also love maybelline mascara as it lasts so well for such a cheap product!
Huggies or Pampers?
Charlie was a pampers baby as Huggies leaked but the girls have been Aldi. Such brilliant quality
Have you always wanted kids?
So so much. I was the girl who was obsessed with dolls and other people’s baby’s.
Best thing about being a Mum?
Feeling like I belong to the coolest club ever!
