Since the summer, my regular commenting and posting has somewhat waned. I’m hoping to get my groove back and in 2016 to start regularly commenting, as along with commenting brings new blogs.
There’s nothing like finding a new blogger with a style and flare that you love and admire. You furiously search their site trying to find out everything about them and their back story. I thought I’d put together a quick post of three blogs that I’ve discovered and have become an avid reader of in 2015. Please don’t be offended if I haven’t included you; this is just a selection of newer ones (to me) I’ve found and really enjoyed. I’d be grateful if you could suggest any too.
I can’t pinpoint the moment I started reading Julia’s blog but sadly I think it was when she was blogging about her beloved Roger being ill. That first post I read left me trawling her blog, wanting to read everything becausde she has such a real special way with words. I know how hard it can be to document grief without alienating an audience, but whilst some shy away from it – she has become this magnificent beacon. I’m sure she wouldn’t agree but she really has written some wonderful healing posts that send hope to others in the same awful unimaginable situation. I don’t think that I ever can read a post without thinking “wow” I know she doesn’t want to hear it but she is an amazing, strong, brave lady – and the most amazing legacy to Rog is her beautiful worded posts.
The Comeback Mum
I have followed Cash for a while on Twitter – she probably has no idea who on earth I am if I’m being honest, but only after seeing her nominated for the Mumsnet awards did I go and read some of her posts – and boy, this girl has serious grit and wit – two pretty awesome rhyming words to be. I’d love to have a fraction of her sass and killer cheekbones but aside from all of her gorgeousness – she has one hell of a story. I have said time and time again that I love reading real blogs. Not a white-wash of brand friendly happy squeaky clean perfectly polished PR posts – real people, real stories. If there’s one thing I urge you to do is to read her post about what it is like living in a women’s refuge. I worked in the homeless team for 8 years and even arranged for people to go to these places but I had zero idea of what actually happened once I fill out their names and send them on their way. I found myself at silly o’clock having to go back and re-read it. It really is that powerful.
You’re probably living under a rock if you’ve never heard of this blog and she certainly isn’t a “new” blogger but it was in 2015 that Katie became a blog that I’d go to – no prompt, just click and see what’s new. There’s not many blogs where the written matches the visual but if you want to drift off into internet heaven – you need Katie’s Instagram and blog in your life. Her utterly stunning photography, coupled with the two sweetest little ladies and with an ever growing bump, who you just know that he is going to be the most stylish little boy in town, is second to none. It’s rare that you click a sponsored post and actually want to
copy buy everything you see but is anyone else desperately wanting to redo their kitchen and bathroom with those tiles?! Not only does she head up the most stylish family – but she’s bloody lovely too.
I could fill a page with so many other wonderful bloggers. Each one offers something unique. 2015 has seen me make so many new blogging buddies but also lose quite a few who have called it a day. I go through phases where I can’t type fast enough to get the words out – other times; nothing. I feel like I am boring myself let alone anyone else. I don’t know what 2016 holds for Twinderelmo but regardless I will be reading.
