Our Honeymoon ‘Stork’

This is a silly little post but was a lovely coincidence and a great story to tell the girls when they are bigger.

We got married on 30th September 2012 in the most beautiful venue Rowton Castle in Shropshire. I was your stereotypical little girl always wanting the big white wedding and my dreams came true that day when I got to have the big dress in the most perfect place. The whole day start to end was just amazing.

We set off on our honeymoon on Wednesday 3rd October. Charlie was almost 4 when we got married so we made the decision to go just as a couple. We had decided that we would try for a baby soon after we got married so the Monday before our wedding on the Sunday the plans were in action and no more contraception. As we were planning for a baby in the next year we knew that we wouldn’t be able to go away as a couple again for many years with two children. Luckily Charlie had an incredibly good relationship with my parents so we knew we had nothing to worry about.

We booked an absolute idyllic once in a lifetime break to the Maldives – and it was pure paradise. I can’t describe how wonderful it was and nothing will ever come close to those few weeks where my life became a perfect dream.

I recall one day we had been to the spa on the island and walked back to our villa and on the roof of ours was this large bird with a huge beak. I remember saying “look the stork has come to visit us!” And we laughed and took some photos and thought nothing more.

On the last few days we moved to the honeymoon water villa and again the “stork” was sat on the roof waiting for us to return. We only saw this bird twice in the whole honeymoon but what an awesome coincidence that I had nicknamed him the stork and seen him twice – and came back with two babies in my belly!
