Having Friends Over

imageSome simple solutions that make hosting overnight guests less stressful When you’re in the middle of moving house, the last thing you want is to start hosting lots of overnight guests. The house is usually in uproar, packing boxes everywhere, and not to mention the constant visits from the estate agents! It may seem like the most stressful thing in the world, but actually you can make life easier on yourself by having some practical furniture solutions should such an occasion arise. Having these on hand doesn’t need to be a nightmare, and hosting guests can be as enjoyable as it should be.

Extra bedding and pillows is a must-have

Making sure you have enough pillows to go around will save you so much worry when guests arrive – and will minimise the chances of you having to share a pillow at night! A handy storage solution if you’re running short on space to store these items is a vacuum storage bag. Once you shove everything into the special bags, you can hoover out the air and be amazed at how small these otherwise bulky items become. Then you can easily store them in a cupboard or under a bed until needed.

A fold out bed is hassle-free

If you’re not lucky enough to have a guest bedroom, having a fold out bed is a lifesaver. They’re a comfortable solution and thankfully are so easy to store when they’re not being used. Bedstar have a great selection of Jaybe fold-out beds which come in a range of sizes and different mattress types, so whatever your budget or taste there is bound to be something there for you.IMG_3068Have some spare toiletries to hand

I’m not suggesting that you go all-out and have mini toiletries like you’re running a hotel, but just having some spare to give to forgetful guests would be useful. You’d be surprised how easily people can forget the essentials like toothpaste or shampoo when they’re packing and if you’re inclined to run low on these anyway it will save a rushed trip to the supermarket to stock up on some more.
Keep some towels spare especially for guests

Another must-have is spare towels. Another key point is to make sure that they’re easily accessible to guests when they arrive. Nobody wants to have to go on a scavenger hunt when they arrive after a long journey – and nor do you want to have to awkwardly hand them towels whilst they’re bathing! Having some folded up and placed on their bed is a simple solution that will save both you and your guests from feeling stressed.
