Brewers Fayre

Last week after a busy day decorating, we popped over to Brewers Fayre in Telford to treat the kids and have a night off cooking. We had never been before so it was nice to try somewhere new!

Brewers Fayre restaurants offer excellent ‘Daytime Value’ – 2 main meals for £10, Monday – Friday, 12-6.30pm including 12 tasty traditional pub classics, from Fish & Chips, to Gammon Steak and Sausage and Mash, perfect for an everyday treat. Plus you can order 2 starters or 2 desserts for just £2.50!

There is tonnes of parking and its huge inside, with lovely warm fires making it very cosy. As we arrived we were greeted and shown to our table by the very friendly staff. We ordered our drinks and the kids were kept occupied with their Beano magazines and colouring crayons while we all decided what to eat. There is a huge choice and the kids can choose various options and swap anything they don’t like. Charlie was also chuffed as they served slush puppies – and vimto ones! I was kicking myself I didn’t order one too.

Brewers Fayre has an extensive children’s menu, inspired by the Beano, includes favourites like the Menace Burger or Spaghetti Beano-ese and is available from the kid sized price of £3.99. It’s always good when you can pick and choose the meals as Charlie can be very fussy!

I opted for the gammon, my husband the steak and mushroom pie, Charlie had cod bites, P1 sausage and mash and P2 popping chicken. The meals arrived promptly and were hot and looked yummy. Unfortunately I didn’t get to snap them before everyone started tucking in – apologies!

Everyone gobbled everything and of course we HAD to have desserts! For pudding, my husband and I opted for the chocolate indulgent sundae, the girls had a brownie with ice cream and Charlie was far too excited about his doughnuts which came with a little pot of chocolate and a little bowl of sprinkles for dipping which he just loved. Again they all arrived quickly and the waitress offered to get extra plates and cutlery for the children which was very kind. Needless to say the desserts didn’t last long and Charlie was raving about his doughnuts.

Overall, it was a very family friendly and child orientated with the choice on the menu plus the affordable prices and deals on. For a family of 5, we had 5 mains, 5 puddings and 7 drinks and the bill came to £48 which I think is extremely reasonable. We all left with full tummies and the kids had crayons and balloons so were even happier!

You can find your local Brewers Fayre by searching on their website. I’m sure we will be back for more Beano fun soon!
