Our London Trip

I spent a lot of time in London when I was younger but haven’t been sightseeing for about 20 years so I thought it would be lovely to take Charlie and show him around. The husband and I talked and decided that we would go just the three of us. Charlie can sometimes get a little overlooked when we have the girls so we thought we would make the trip all about him.

We were very lucky that the lovely folk at Travelodge offered us to stay with them as the one thing Charlie really wanted to do was go on the London Eye. The hotel we stayed in was the London Central Southwark hotel which was a very short walk from the Southwark tube stop which was very handy. The London Eye was 0.9 miles from the hotel but as it was so soggy we hopped on the tube for our visit. The Globe theatre, Tate Modern, London Aquarium and Big Ben are all within a mile of the hotel so it’s a great spot.

We arrived just after 3pm and there was no queue for check in so quickly were given our key and the receptionist took a shine to Charlie and he got a lollipop which he was chuffed with! We were in room 710 and the room had the most perfect view of the Shard from our window.IMG_5010

I was a little apprehensive as we looks out onto the Waterlook train line but the room was surprisingly quiet despite a tube and train line being so close. There was some noise but to say we were looking out onto a tube and railway line it wasn’t too loud and certainly didn’t prevent us going to sleep.

We stayed for one night so had breakfast on the Tuesday morning which was buffet style with a hot and cold selection of foods. There was a range of coffees, tea and juices along with muffins which Charlie approved of! The room was quite small but we were seated quickly and all filled up for the day. As we were travelling light I asked for a hairdryer and were given one no fuss.

During our trip to London we ticked off so many of the big attraction and sights. I’ll leave you with some of my favourite shots from our lovely trip – if only the sun had shone a little bit, it is August after all!

It looks and sounds like you had a great time, I bet Charlie loved having the attention without his sisters around. I stayed in a Travelodge when we went to Britmums and it was nice. I remember taken my eldest to London a few years ago and it was just before Christmas and it was freezing cold but we had a great adventure xx
