I don’t often do food reviews namely because I’m not a massive foody but when we were offered the chance to review Table Table at Moseley Park in Wolverhampton I said yes because it wasn’t far from my Gran’s house and I loved being able to treat her.
So last Saturday 7 of us (me, the husband, my Dad, my Gran and the kids) trotted along to Table Table to have a family meal together.
Location wise – it was very easy to find. It’s on a pretty main route to and from Wolverhampton centre and is next to the Premier Inn hotel with lots of parking right next to the entrance.
As we walked in (midday on a Saturday) someone quickly greeted us and showed us to our huge table! It was lovely as we were in a little corner so the girls had space to roam around without disturbing other diners. As we sat down the waitress introduced herself and asked if we wanted drinks and within a few minutes we had our drinks.
After visiting Warwick Castle in the week Charlie loved the Horrible Histories menu which for kids was fab. You could choose your main and sides and for someone who is an incredibly fussy eater he was in awe that they had tortilla chips as a side!
We all ordered soon after and the meals all arrived at the same time and the kids was not burning hot on sizzling plates which for me is always a bonus as you’re not desperately juggling to keep a red hot plate away from a little one whilst blowing the food to cool it down!
Our orders were as follows:
- 2 x Gammon steaks with chips and eggs
- Steak and Merlot pie with mash
- BBQ ribs and chicken with chips
- Kids popping chicken, chips and beans
- Kids popping chicken, chips and tortilla chips
Everyone cleared their plates the only criticism came from my husband who said there was too much!!!
We then decided to be greedy and order a pudding each (the kids get a free dessert with their meals) which again we ordered quickly after we had finished and the table had been cleared.
- After eight sundae
- Chocolate cake with ice cream
- Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and cream
- Chocolate brownie and ice cream
- Kids Vanilla ice cream
- Kids mini chocolate challenge
My after eight sundae was DEVINE! Charlie too agreed that the puddings were amazing and there is a huge variety and choice just like the main menu and side dishes( which also have starters but we didn’t have any)
In total we had 4 adult mains, 2 kids meals, 8 drinks (including a Costa Coffee cappuccino) and 6 puddings with the total coming to £75 which for 7 of you comes to just over £10 per head for two courses plus drinks. The girls were their usual boisterous selves and never once did I feel uncomfortable that they were being loud and a tad crazy. Our lovely waitress Carly chatted away to them and was very friendly and nothing seemed too much. She was totally unaware we were there to review which I liked because you got the real service which I’m happy to report was fabulous!
All in all – it was a very good service and good “pub grub” with all the classic favourites and a wide choice. For a Saturday afternoon and being busy we were never left nor hanging around which with 3 kids in tow can be lethal. We rarely stay for puddings in places because the girls don’t like sitting and waiting!!
I would definitely visit a Table Table restaurant again – it is perfect for families with the variety of choices for the kids but also the nice atmosphere that they can be kids and no one is going to tell you off!
We had a lovely afternoon and my Gran really enjoyed it which made it even better. Charlie even asked when we could go again! Thanks for having us.
