During our BritMums weekend, I shared a room with the lovely Becky from 3 Princesses and 1 Dude and we were lucky enough to stay in the new Premier Inn at Aldgate. In fact it was so new that the taxi driver told us it was the first time he had dropped anyone there!
We checked in around 4pm when there was a break in the schedule. We arrived to a lovely bright reception area with two member of staff who introduced themselves and ran through all the hotel information. They were incredibly friendly and helpful and the whole process of checking in and being in our room took under 5 minutes.
Our room was 601 and luckily right by the lifts so no lugging heavy cases for us!
The room was a family room so had a double bed (which I sneakily bagged for myself!) and a sofa bed which doubled as a single. The room was stocked with complimentary tea and coffee and luckily for me came with a hairdryer as I had forgotten mine!
We had a bath and a shower and loads of towels and extra pillows.
The hotel is located very close to Aldgate tube station on Alie Street which is a few minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel itself had a bar, restaurant and handy vending machines with snacks and also essentials if you had forgotten anything! The room itself was very quiet and had air con as it got a little stuffy in the night.
We had the unlimited breakfast which was scrummy! On the Saturday night we also ate at the hotel; I had gammon and chocolate sundae with a Pepsi which in total with the price for breakfast the meal deal came out as £22 which for an unlimited breakfast (continental and cooked) plus hot and cold drinks, plus an evening meal, pudding and a drink in London is pretty good going!!
I was absolutely amazed that check out was 12pm – how awesome is that?! After a long crazy weekend and a train that didn’t go until 1.30pm this was music to my ears. Check out was so simple – just drop your keycard in the box on your way out. Too easy!
I had absolutely no complaints whatsoever about our hotel. We had a great night sleep in a super clean, new and fresh Premier Inn. For two nights the cost was £232 which for a superbly based location to explore London I think it’s very good quality.
We were provided with our complimentary room in exchange for this honest review. All words, pictures and opinions are my own
