[Review] Diddi Dance

I have recently been lucky enough to take the girls to Diddi Dance. The girls have just turned two so I was really excited to join in the sessions.

Diddi Dance is aimed at 2-4 year olds but younger children are often accepted too. Each session lasts 45 minutes which I found a perfect time for young children so they don’t get too bored. Each term, there is usually a theme. We were really lucky as we got to experience the end of the Salsa theme and the start of the rock and roll term. Our instructor was Nikki who encouraged everyone to dress to the theme if you wanted but there was absolutely no pressure. Girls in the salsa sessions wore flowers and for the rock and roll sessions some kids bought in blow up guitars which was so fun!

There was a good mix of boys and girls and different ages and abilities. If I am being totally honest, I think my girls were a little too young. They didn’t full understand the instructions and with a slightly limited vocabulary they couldn’t answer questions. I definitely think that in about another 6-9 months they will be at the optimum age to be able to fully get involved.

The sessions are fun and upbeat. There are the same songs which allows the children to pick them up and the familiar structure of the sessions is great for them to know what they’re supposed to be doing. There was a good mix of teacher led, freestyle and also use of props.

You can search on the website to find your local group and also you can have a free trial session – how can you say no!
