Ah identical twins. They’ll have the strongest bond humanly possible. They’ll never want to be separated. They will always have a playmate and a friend for life.  Yeah right. Except when they’re arguing over a Jon Bon bloody Jovi CD. The look of  distain on P2s face says it all. Twin love my arse. Disclaimer – that shite CD does NOT belong to me. I have more taste. Like Busted – ohhhh yeahhhh.

I saw a twin Mom I know from school  at the weekend. She was asking about what we had gotten up to in the holidays and I said we had been away and she said the line that really got me thinking “how did you find it taking the twins away?” I guess I never second think going out for days and going away. When the girls were just over 8 weeks old we gave ourselves 24 hours notice and booked a holiday down in Cornwall (4 hours away) not giving it a thought of the practicalities and difficulties it…

My two P’s are supposed to be identical. We found at our 12 week scan that we were expecting twins and the sonographer couldn’t be certain, but as pretty confident that they were identical. Why you ask – here comes the science!    Identical Twins are known as monozygotic twins. This is where a single egg is fertilised by a single sperm – then splits exactly in half, creating two identical DNA sharing babies. They share the same blood type – and are the same sex. Now you may laugh at this, but the amount of my twitter friends with…

When I was pregnant with my twin girls, my skin became very very itchy. I put it down to how much it was being stretched. It was a chat on twitter and was told to mention it to the midwife, which I did in passing. She took some blood and off I went, thinking no more of it. However the day after I got a phonecall to say I had an incredibly high reading and needed to go to the hospital where I would deliver for monitoring, talk about medication and regular blood tests What is Obestric Cholestasis?  Obstetric cholestasis…

As the title says it’s twins, multiples & more week. Despite knowing for almost 18 months and having them here for almost 13 months – I still cannot believe I have twins. It’s hard work but quite honestly the most amazing experience you can have. Seeing how two little girls who are identical genetically are so different personality wise. How they have their own quirky little traits. Watching each day their bond start to grow and strengthen. Having twins on occasions can make you feel like a minor celebrity! You rarely can go somewhere without someone stopping you and asking…

What a whirlwind 8&a half months we have had with our girls! Can’t believe they’ve been out as long as they were in. It has been such a brilliant ride, I just love seeing them grow together and their very individual personalities shining through. We are really starting to experience the more challenging stage. When they were tiny everyone used to say how hard it must be with two newborns but I smiled and said the hard work will start when they’re on the move… Having had Charlie I knew what was to come! So they have both been crawling…

I woke up on Tuesday 11th December 2012 praying my little monkey in my belly was ok (not to mention feeling awful and so so poorly sick) Dragged myself down to the hospital and lay across DH as we waited to be called into the scan room. When we were I apologised as I hadn’t got a full bladder as I could barely keep a sip of water down. They agreed to try to scan me so on the bed I hopped.  Many people have asked if I knew I was having twins or any inkling – the truthful answer…
