I am on a number of twin related Facebook groups and every so often there will be a discussion about “do you dress your twins the same” and it provokes some full blown arguments, fights and insults! See dressing twins is an incredibly marmite topic and everyone seems to have a very definite opinion on it. You have team “it is so cute” vs team “you will mentally scar them for life”. You will get the occasional middle of the road person (which I would like to think I am) but in no uncertain terms do I think dressing baby/toddler twins…

I have been keeping a little secret from you all. I’ve been waiting almost 5 weeks before sharing with you but I now finally have confirmation. You see, when we first found out I was having twins the sonographer indicated to us that she thought they were identical twins due to a free floating membrane that was separating them (also known as the “chorion”) but this was confirmed a few weeks later when we started having our scans with our consultant. At every appointment she would check straight for the heartbeats then the free floating single membrane. The other factor…

My girls are 19 months old now. Writing that sentence makes me feel rather uneasy I have to admit but they are and whilst the crazy all night feeding and changing days are (thank god!) a long way behind us, we are facing new challenges – ones I hadn’t quite anticipated so soon. The girls are becoming incredibly possessive of me and get jealous of the other when sitting on me, reading with me or just generally trying to spend one on one time with me. And it’s so hard. How do you do it? I know that twins more…

Twin (noun) one of two children or animals born at the same birth. Something containing or consisting of two matching or corresponding parts Ok so we all know what a twin is but with approximately 2% of the worlds population being twins not many of us really know what it’s like to actually BE a twin. My girls pretty much all their time together. They nap at the same time, they sleep next to each other, they wake up next to each other, they play together, they share baths and have their meals side by side at the same time.…

I remember when I was probably around 9 or 10 going through a phase where I really wanted to be a twin. Yes. Quite a ridiculous statement as I should have wanted this 10 years and 9 months earlier and, if I’m quite honest; the predominance of blame for me wanting to be a twin lays definitely at Tia and Tamera from Sister Sister door, as I was absolutely obsessed with that show.      I recall playing in our playhouse with my childhood best mate who lived next door and talking about how cool it would be to swap…

Wow. I have survived a twin pregnancy and also the first 15 and a half months. Quite how I’m not sure! There are days where I can barely look after myself but apparently I am in charge of these little people who call me Mom. And Dad. And “Dissss” according to P2.  It’s all affectionate though…I think   But I have thrown together a few things that have slightly kept me sane and made me able to reach this milestone in one piece and just a bit grey.    1) never ever EVER get down to the last pack of…

I just spent the last 50 minutes cleaning. Whilst this comes as quite a shock that I am actually cleaning, the real surprise came was that I did it whilst Once Born Every Minute was on. OBEM is the one show that I will always be able to tell you when it starts, what day it’ll be on and probably previous parents on there. In short – I’m obsessed. Or should that be – was…? Without a doubt – I am a babyzilla. I was your stereotypical girly girl; everywhere I went I would have my mass of dolls with…
