I can’t be the only one who has felt this entire week has been dominated by HEAT, oh the bloody heat indeed. As I write this, we have been treated to some rain and I even wore a jacket today. I know I shouldn’t moan but after being in what felt like a permanent state of hot, stickiness it is a welcome reprieve. I am looking forward to sleeping all night without having to peel myself off the bed and needing a fan on me 24/7. Tonight is our school BBQ so I’m looking forward to an evening with friends…

I had the moment all Parents dread on last week. You know the one, where you are standing waiting to pick up your kid and the teacher makes a beeline for you. It’s never good when they leave the classroom to collar you. I was hoping it may be telling me a funny little anecdote, but sadly it wasn’t. P1 had been naughty. Pretty damn naughty. She had hit a boy who is over a year older than her. My face dropped as I listened to the teacher say the word “whack” about four times and my face turned a fetching…

I’m back in the world of blog. Is it just me or when the weather turns nice you feel compelled to be outside? We have had a busy few weeks hence my lack of posts. My girls turned four last week and there seems to be so much happening in and around school and nursery at this time of year with school fetes, sports days and school inductions I am trying to keep up. My husband has been away working in Copenhagen all week so I’ve had a bit more time to get back on the blog. I’ve been struggling…

As a family of five consisting of three children and two rather messy adults, it’s safe to say that our house needs cleaning. A lot. Grubby hands, never ending laundry baskets, sticky fingerprints on the windows and dirty plates piled high by the sink are a daily occurance so when the lovely folk at Seventh Generation offered to send me a hamper full of cleaning goodies, I’m not going to lie I was over the moon. The big selling point of Seventh Generation is their ethos. Did you know that retailers by law don’t have t disclose what is in cleaning products?…

It is Sports Day next week and for the first time, all three of my children will be taking part. Charlie has moved over to the Juniors so things are done a little different as they do it in smaller groups. The girls are at nursery so will only take part in one running race and then spend the afternoon watching the rest of the children. One little race – how cute will that be. Except, it’s going to be all out WAR. My littlest lady is incredibly competitive and I am worried that we are going to have a…

I read back the post I wrote when my girls turned three, so I felt it was fitting to write one this year. Girls, on your fourth birthday I can’t believe we are here. Now you are four, life is about to crank up a notch. This past year, dare I say, has been easier. Being twins has really come into its own and you absolutely love playing together. Aided by the confidence you’ve picked up after nine months at nursery, you have strengthened your bond and become best buddies. This is not to say that you have isolated yourselves.…

When we found out we were expecting identical twins, I had visions of little darlings skipping off holding hands, cuddling, kissing wearing matching clothes looking exactly the same. The reality is somewhat different; we still have the holding hands, kissing and cuddling but we also have brutal brawls, endless bickering, tears, tantrums and some serious attitude. Welcome to the real life of identical twins. Social media reinforces this stereotypes that identical twins have this magical inseparable bond with magical superhuman powers where they can read each others minds, or feel each others pain. In reality? My experience of identical twins has…
