I can’t quite believe it is Friday already, and not only Friday but Good Friday at that. I hope you all are having a great time and aren’t at work and/or have partners that have some time off too. I am really excited as my husband has both the bank holidays off which doesn’t usually happen so it will be really nice to have him home for a few extra days. So week one of the holidays gone already, this is what we have been up to with our school-free days.
My gorgeous friend Hannah at Hi Baby Blog wrote this bloody epic post exploring if we should want our daughters to “marry well” With two daughters I’m sure this will come up in the future. But surely it will be the same for my son? I genuinely would hate for any of them to ever feel any pressure from me as a parent to influence any of their life decision and the one message I hope to instill is to be happy. Money, names changes and wedding bands are irrelevant and as Hannah says, I will indefinitely respect and have faith in all three of my babies.
After finishing series 3 of Line of Duty, we are ready and raring to dive into series 4 over the Easter weekend. My husband has been away for a few nights so I had to divert my Line of Duty addiction. My sister recommended Fleabag to me. She is good at picking shows I’ll like however I tried a few episodes and I just wasn’t feeling it. Any recommendations would be gratefully received!
I was also glued to Facebook live on Tuesday as it was the Disneyland Paris 25th anniversary and the celebration parade looked utterly amazing. I felt so teary watching it as it really was out of this world. The queues looked manic so I was more than happy to be watching it from the comfort of my bed.
Disney songs GALORE! We went to Disney on Ice on Wednesday evening and the only way to prepare to go to Disney on Ice – is to listen to Disney songs ALL the way there. The show itself has 30(!) amazing iconic songs to sing along to as well. I am Disney-ed out. Well, not so much as we spent yesterday watching Disney films. I am still trying to convince my husband to book our Orlando trip…
My favourite leopard boots got an airing at Disney on Ice. I have way too many pairs of leopard based footwear. Honestly my husband hates it and think it’s so tacky but me? I couldn’t care less! I love it. Our family photos is so “us” The kids aren’t smiling, my husband is wearing their Woody hat so looks slightly crazy and my hair is wild but my boots? CRACKING!
There was a slight wardrobe issue when we arrived. All week my littlest had been saying she wanted to wear her Belle dress. As soon as we pulled up? She refused to wear it and sulked. Luckily I had a backup Woody (which was front our trip to Disneyland Paris last year) I definitely think they’ve had a growth spurt since. I doubt there was been a more wacky looking Woody and Buzz with wild hair (that they hate having brushed) red nails and dinosaur trainers. You can’t say we aren’t unique as a family can you?!
As it is Easter on Sunday, is it not THE LAW to make cornflake cakes?! They are so easy and so tasty. The diet is not going well…
After a good week of eating, it’s pretty much gone to pot this week. Next week won’t be much better as we are off to Blackpool overnight! I am taking the kids on my own as my husband is away so it’s either going to be amazing or stressful beyond belief. I am so excited to get away and am keeping everything crossed the sun shines a little bit. Don’t eat too many Easter eggs!
