Rejoining the Gym

A few weeks ago, after not going pretty much all year, I decided to quit my gym. I wasn’t utilising my monthly membership and knew I could not justify paying £30 a month for something I just wasn’t using. Drastic huh? I guess so.

However, I knew I wouldn’t be able to not exercise for long and a new gym has just opened a few days ago and I have decided I need a change of scenery and am going to join.

My last gym was part of my old school and was very dated and also the main factor that put me off was that you couldn’t park on site. I know the whole point of going to a gym is to exercise, so walking there shouldn’t be a negative but I begrudge paying £30 membership to then have to pay at least £1 each time you go, it can soon rack up. I have limited time in the afternoons too after dropping the girls, so faffing with tickets and walking to and fro can easily add another 15 minutes onto a session. Lets be honest, it didn’t take me much to make an excuse not to go and this provided the perfect one.

So with rejoining the gym, I was kindly sent some new gear from Simply Be to help me look the part. They have a huge range of sportswear so it was tough to choose. The ordering and delivery processes were super simple. They offer next day delivery and free click and collect on orders over £40.

I finally decided on this Nike grey funnel neck sweater and these black Nike leggings. I knew after having three kids that any colour bar black on my lower half doesn’t end well. The leggings are stretchy so made tucking my jelly belly into them easy! They have plenty of give and don’t go see through when you bend over(!) which I have found with quite a few pairs of gym trousers. I ordered them in a size 8/10 but would say I am more a 10/12 but they fitted perfectly. The waistband doesn’t dig in either and most importantly they don’t slide down so you’re forever yanking them up.

I loved the soft grey sweater top and know that I will wear this as day to day wear as well as to the gym. I ordered this in a 12/14 so it had a bit of give but would say it wasn’t huge so I would be over generous when ordering. Both items washed really well and the sparkly Nike sign didn’t crack at all. I love that sportswear can look funky, fun and fashionable so you can look good when exercising. I know I feel so much better when I look good, so am eager to get back in the gym and hopefully tone up my bingo wings and jelly belly!

Wish me luck!
