Slimming World Target Member

I have done it – I am now officially a Slimming World target member! I hit my target last Tuesday and am feeling so happy. I have to admit, I had been chasing my tail for months of putting on and losing but to finally be at a weight I’m completely happy with feels so good. So, what does being a Slimming World target member mean?

A target member means you have reached your self imposed goal. This can be changed at any time but also allows you the freedom to go three pounds below or three pounds above it. Being a target member means free membership for life (as long as you don’t go out of the weight range as above) so you don’t have to pay the weekly fee of £4.95. You can weight as and when you like meaning you have more flexibility and don’t have to use your holidays. As it is my first week as a target member, it’ll be interesting to see how I maintain my weight. You aren’t encouraged to intake extra syns but are allowed an extra A and B choice which is brilliant so I an finally have a much longed for cheese roll (on wholemeal of course!)

It’s been a brilliant journey. I lost 3 stone in 6 months and improved my fitness. Not only was my fitness improved but I felt so much better and confidence. I am so glad I made the decision to join as it quite honestly has changed my life. I am healthier for my kids, my stomach and body feels so much better and I don’t get cramps which I used to on a diet of junk food.

I’m not going to sugar coat it as there have been hard times. Trying to juggle “staying on plan” with general life can be hard. When I am stressed or tired, I reach for the junk food and that has still happened. Weeks of putting on or maintaining when you’ve stuck religiously to plan is hard mentally to take. I have wanted to throw in the towel, gone on eating binges but despite all this – I have trained my mind. I know that Slimming World does work. It makes me feel so much better and is a plan that really is adaptable to family life.

    Well done! You must be very proud of yourself! I’m one of the lucky ones who doesn’t have a weight problem, probably because I’m not a big fan of junk food. We love preparing and cooking meals from scratch also.
    I do love fish and chips once or twice a month though… 🙂
    Little bits of advice would be:
    1. Always have a muesli or porridge type breakfast. This will keep you full till lunchtime.
    2. Have 2 pieces of fruit at lunchtime with you meal. This keeps the afternoon sugar need at bay.
    3. DO NOT eat anything after 6pm.

    I became a Target member 12 yrs ago when I lost 4 stone. I admit I had put on a stone but a good talking to myself and within a few weeks got back ontrack.

    I think I’m going to join Slimming World. I have 3 stone to lose and I’m not doing well on my own at all 🙁
