#GetYourStripes with Matalan and Alder Hey
As it is dark by 5pm, there’s nothing I love more than of a weekend is locking the door, blasting the heating on, snuggling up on the sofa with a blanket in my pjs with some treats. The kids too are very much of this opinion I am glad to say so we absolutely celebrate Lazy Sundays in our house.
I have recently been thrilled to be working with Matalan who have partnered again with the amazing Alder Hey Children’s Hospital charity on their #GetYourStripes campaign which I’m sure you will have seen across social media in the last few weeks.
We were kindly sent a bundle of goodies to join in with the biggest PJ party ever that Matalan have been running. Our box included:
- Face masks
- Snack bowl
- Our #GetYourStripes Pjs
- #GetYourStripes mugs
- Chocolate treats
Whilst my husband rustled up some hot chocolate and popcorn for us using our new mugs (£2 each) and snack bowl (£6 each) I decided to get the kids in the party spirit with a good game. My kids have never played Twister before. I shuddered a little when I realised this as Twister is such a classic game! With Christmas coming up, it’s always good to have time where you can switch off the TV and enjoy the simple things in life and old school games are definitely the best kind of fun.
It took the girls a bit of getting used to but provided me plenty of giggles trying to see them contort themselves into various positions.
After exhausting themselves bending and wiggling with Twister, we decided to try out our new snuggle blanket (£15) Now I love a good blanket. I can often be found curled up in a ball on the sofa pretty much all year round with a blanket wrapped round me, but I am very particular. This Matalan one is ridiculously soft and so warm and luckily, fits three kids and myself under too! Why are kids always drawn to everything us Moms love?! So with our hot chocolate and snacks at the ready, we decided to watch a Disney classic of Beauty and the Beast – who can resist?!
At bedtime I tried out my facemask, as did Charlie who was a bit baffled as to what we were doing but he loved making my face all funny looking with the gooey mask! It was so lovely to spend time inside the house together as a family. It proves that you don’t always have to have big grand days out and the best kind of fun is homemade together. I’ve loved working with Matalan because Alder Hey’s Childrens Hospital provide so many families with life saving support. It’s amazing because in the last two years alone, two hugely successful Christmas campaigns have raised over £1.3m for Alder Hey.
100% of profits from this year’s #GetYourStripes campaign goes towards funding the next phase of our Research, Innovation and Education Centre, enabling Alder Hey to deliver life-changing research into childhood conditions like arthritis, cancer and diabetes.
You can buy your #GetYourStripes products on the Matalan website or instore and know that 100% of the proceeds foes straight to Alder Hey. The other products featured in my post are available to buy from Matalan.
