It’s been quite a while since I’ve updated on my weight loss and fitness journey.
In reality, it has been because the summer was a bit of a write off. Whilst I did go to group, I ended up off the wagon for the predominance of the summer holidays. I was totally ok with this because it allowed me the freedom to enjoy days out with the kids without feeling restricted and we had so many lovely impromptu BBQs and picnics. I had almost reached my 3.5 stone weight loss but now I’m back at a 3 stone loss which I’m actually fine with. I want to lose 4 in total so it means I need to knuckle down.
Charlie started back at school on Wednesday and the girls have their first full afternoon session today at nursery. Being back in a routine has been so beneficial for us all. It means I know we have to have breakfast and lunch by a certain time to ensure we are on time to get to school and nursery. Evening meals are also more organised as everyone is hungry around the same time and there’s a lot less snacking going on, meaning less temptation for me!
So far, I’ve been 100% on plan and my mind is once again really focused. The last fortnight I gained 4.5lbs so I’m keen to get that back off as soon as I can.
In terms of fitness, I haven’t been running since the end of May. I haven’t really done much structured walking either with no school runs, which has led me to the big decision… I’m going to take out a gym membership!
Previously I was doing pay as you go, but I was limited to weekends when my husband was here. As I am now free in the afternoons, I think I will make more use of a proper membership. This not only allows me to use the newly done gym, but also the swimming pool and classes although I think they’re all mainly in the evenings so they’re not really an option for me, as my husband works away.
I have checked the swimming times and they start 15 minutes after nursery drop off so it’s going to work really well. The leisure centre is only a few minutes walk from the school and nursery so it’s all going to work out nicely. I am actually really looking forward to getting back into exercise as I find I’m more inclined to eat better as you don’t want to undo all your hard work.
I’ll keep you posted how I get on and post more fitness updates.
