It is less than a month until my girls start nursery every afternoon at the school they will be attending the following year. Forest School is a big part of their learning and they have a fantastic outdoor area attached to the school and they will be starting their adventures when they have settled in. In preparation, we have been sent some waterproofs to review from the folks at Dry Kids.
We were sent two pairs of waterproof trousers and two waterproof zip up jackets with hoods that close away. We ordered them in size 3-4; the girls were 3 in June so they have just started to go up a size but they fitted but have a bit of growing room for the next 12 months.
I remember buying Charlie some cheap waterproof trousers for a few quid off Amazon when he started nursery and they felt very thin and ripped within a few months, so this was the first thing I had to do when they arrived – the touch test! They felt very thick so was confident as my two can be a tad wild at times.
We decided to put them to the test and we headed to the woods on one of the very heavy rainy days we had at the start of the month (we got soaked walking back to the car!) The girls absolutely love to climb so there were a few hairy moments where they were climbing up trees and got their trousers caught but I’m pleased to say they didn’t rip and withstood the test of my boisterous twins!
The jackets have two outer pockets, a reflective strip and a hood that can be folded away if you want to. The trousers have “pockets” which aren’t proper sealed pockets but allow you to get through to your “real” pockets if you will. The jacket is not padded so you won’t get too hot. I will always layer up the girls so this is keep them dry on the top layer.
There is a space on the label to be able to write their names, which is perfect as they will be used when they are at school. If they’re anything like their brother then names are essential as he has a penchant for losing everything!
There are buttons at ther bottom of the trousers which can be closed up to make the trousers smaller. This would be perfect when paddling to keep everything safe and dry.
The set is currently priced at £14.95 for both the trousers and jacket. You can buy the items individually if you only need one or the other and again are very reasonable with the jacket at £9.95 and the trousers at £5.95. Overall, I can hand on heart say that we are really really impressed with both the price and quality. It’s always hard on the pocket having twins but I would not even hesitate to spend this on a set. I love that it’s as two separate pieces as the jacket will be useful when out and about and the trousers aren’t needed.
I’m really excited to be able to give one lucky reader the chance to win their own set, so you can love it as much as we do.
Please note the winner can choose one set of their own choice in a colour/size but this is subject to availability. All you need to do is complete the RaffleCopter below. Please read the full Ts & Cs before entering. Open to UK entrants aged 18+ Closes at midnight on 5/9/16. Good luck!
