Back in September, we reviewed the Thomas Potty Training book and we were so excited when we were asked by Egmont if we would like to review a rather festive Thomas and Friends personalised book.
Personalised books are a great way at capturing your child’s imagination. They are able to relate to the main character and like my girl actually think she is in the book; she kept saying as we turned the page “That’s me!” which was just lovely as they are at the heart of the whole story. You are able to choose another friend or someone they know to be included in the story, so having twins meant I was able to include both of them in the story. You can make the child look like your with different hair, eye and skin colour which really helps create the character.
I love personalised gifts and also love sending them. My godson is one and a half and I think when he’s a bit older I will be looking to get him one as it’s so much more special getting a book with “them” included as you’ve put a real effort into the present.
The girls, like their brother was when he was younger, are big Thomas and Friends fans so it was the perfect early present.
The story is all about Father Christmas visiting Sodor but there’s a troublesome snowstorm causing him problems but Thomas and his friend (P2) is on hand to help out. There are lots of bright pictures on each page and the book features all of Thomas’s much loved friends so that Thomas fans will be happy to see all the familiar faces. It’s a fun festive story which is perfect for reading as we get closer to the big day. Christmas is a great time to share lots of festive stories to get in the mood so this one will be kept safe and read lots over the coming weeks.
I ordered the book directly from the Egmont website. They are the largest specialist book publisher in the UK. They provide a wide range of personalised books for all occasions including Mr Tumble in Something Special, Fireman Sam, The Mr Men and lots more. The book we reviewed costs £12.99 with all the personalisation and has 25 colour paperback pages.
