Christmas Home Preparation

We don’t usually put our decorations up until the first weekend in December. My husband always tries to get us to hold out until after Charlie’s birthday, which is 10th December, but we always give in and decorate the house earlier. I love getting the house looking all festive and ready for when the man in red visits.

As it is our first year in our new house, I have a blank canvas so to speak and a whole new theme to dream up. I’ve been getting some wonderful home inspiration from HomeSense and thought I’d share a few ideas with you;

homesense_325360128351221 White is such an elegant, classy colour that also feels so magical. It will go in pretty much every house regardless of the colour scheme. I absolutely love the hanging garland which would look gorgeous over a mirror or fireplace. The candle stick holder would also really look amazing on the Christmas dinner table and the wreath would have to take pride of place on the front door.

Gold is going to be huge in 2016 so get a head start with a few subtle touches across your house. The delicate detail on the bauble is stunning and I would just love them hanging on the tree.

I absolutely adore this cosy winter themed living room which doesn’t need to be all taken down come twelvth night. It can last throughout the winter period. I absolutely love the quirky animals on the fireplace  and as you know I’m partial to a spot of tartan in my house (all our sofa scatter cushions are tartan) so I’m loving the whole vibe.

My favourite is definitely the star log candle holder. It encompasses all my favourite things about Christmas and the whole scene screams winter log cabin which I just adore!

This year HomeSense is running the ‘Hang a bauble’ campaign to help vulnerable children this Christmas. Leading children’s charity Action for Children has partnered with HomeSense for the sixth consecutive year to raise funds for Action for Children this Christmas.

Customers at HomeSense are able to buy a Christmas bauble for £1, on which they can write a festive message or their happiest childhood Christmas memory before hanging it on a special HomeSense Christmas tree in their local store. All proceeds from the bauble donations will go to Action for Children and its local services. Why not do something extra special this Christmas and support a fantastic charity in the process, all whilst discovering the amazing Christmas range available at HomeSense now.

B xx
