To celebrate National Wallpaper Week which is running all this week (5-11th October). It coudln’t have come at a better time for me as we have just bought and moved house and as you know, you instantly want to put your own stamp on the house and make it your own.
Luckily, most rooms in the new house were pretty neutral but the girls bedroom was quite obviously a boys bedroom previously with dark blue and green walls that needed updating as they looked very worn and faded m. I decided I wanted to go for a funky vibe for their room. When clearing the loft, we found a whole tin of pink paint that we used previously in their last bedroom. I wasn’t too keen on a real OTT girly bedroom but with limited budgets for each room I conceded and painted the three green walls pink. It was very easy to cover but the blue wall wasn’t so simple.
Luckily the wonderful folks at Graham and Brown stepped in and offered to help us decorate. I adore polka dot styles so when I spotted the polka flock wallpaper I fell in love.
It arrived well packaged in individual boxes. The wallpaper itself has divided my husband and I. I think it has a silvery sheen to it but he says gold – I think it’s dependant on the light but the gorgeous element to this paper – the dots have a velvet like texture. The girls love stroking them and they give a 3D edge to the paper which I love as it’s a little bit different.
The paper is very thick and easy to paste. We had no rips and it is very durable when moving with wet paste on. You do need to join up the dots when aligning the paper so think of this when ordering as you may need a bit extra.
The paper is currently on sale for £35 per roll which is quite expensive but the quality and luxury feel along with it looking super funky means it’s definitely worth spending a little extra. It’s a real statement wall – and this is what the girls think! B xx
Disclosure – we were sent the wallpaper photographed in exchange for this review. All words, opinions and photos are my own
